Obwarzanek.com

Obwarzek.com is the first ever municipal brand of Kraków souvenirs, based on the registered design. It’s a superior quality original composition, built around the shape of Kraków’s traditional obwarzanek (obwarzanek is a type of regional bread, baked in Kraków, where it has the status of a regional food with protected geographical indication). Obwarzek.com was an answer to a high quality Kraków souvenirs demand, a distinctive alternative for China-made, flashy coloured gadgets flooding the market.

Obwarzanek, in its minimalist graphic version, became a distinctive pattern and a clear reference to Kraków in all the designed products. The traditional toppings: poppy seeds, salt and sesame seeds are the basic graphical elements, creating series and allowing for product variations. The main principles are functionality, simple design and a subtle, unobtrusive style of the souvenirs. The products and the packaging also promote the traditional obwarzanek, describing its history and a few basic features.

The project was nominated for an award in the largest, annual Polish advertising competition held by the Polish Ad Club, in category Brand Identity System.
